It’s a great honor to be working with partners in the decentralized namespace and an even bigger one to be integrated into their project. redefined’s mission is to make Web3 interactions simple and convenient for everyone, everywhere by building a Web3 Identity and Access Layer. The protocol redefined: Connect is the fundamental component for a unique cross-chain identifier and developer tools to simplify the cross-chain interaction in the Web3 ecosystem.
What does this mean for users? Well, it’s a protocol unifying domain names across many different chains. This means that your .eth
, .bnb
, .sol
names and more can all be aggregated under a single email or username with redefined. Then you can use this username to transact on any chain and the funds will be directed to the corresponding address set (given integrations take place).
The process of registering a redefined username should be nothing unfamiliar to you .sol owners. It requires the same steps; connect your wallet to their site, search for your desired username and/or email, ensure that it is still available and if it is register it for the price based on character length. Watch this video if it is still unclear.
Managing your record section is just easy - you just add your chain addresses and your new handle will resolve them all.
As part of redefined’s mission to make Web3 interactions simple, they too have created a seamless integration SDK. Their SDK, no matter where it is integrated, will allow .sol domain names to resolve on the chain or wallet as well. That is, you can use SNS for cross-chain transactions. All it would require is setting the appropriate record section of your domains, for example, your ETH address and the job is done for EVM chains. Whether you choose to use your redefined username/email or .sol address is completely up to you. How about that?
The model of redefined is a particularly interesting one. When envisioning the future of decentralized domain names we might come across a space that is abundant with them due to factors out of our control. Perhaps not yet, but soon, you may find it challenging to remember your names or what address they are on or even where to use them - which is quite a juxtaposition especially considering the ease of use domain names are supposed to offer. This foresight of redefined solves a lingering problem right from the get-go and enhances user experience before these issues could even arise.
