.sol domain names whether in their native state or as an NFT need some sort of background for it to look good and/or suit conventions. We have created standard backgrounds for domains that have served us well until now. We’ve realized that there is a great opportunity with these to “market” anything really - almost acting like a billboard if we may. Our goal with these cards is to broadcast the work of our fabulous Solana artists. Give them the opportunity to create something sick for domain name cards, showcase their art to a broad audience, monetize with the mint fee and give users a personal touch to their domains.

Soooo?

We've developed a program that seamlessly integrates with the Solana blockchain, offering web3 NFT artists and communities the opportunity to design limited-edition backgrounds for domain name NFT cards. This platform acts as a bridge, connecting the creativity of artists with the practicality of domain names, thereby enhancing the visual aspect of web3 name services.

These backgrounds are carefully curated for .sol domain name holders and can be found nowhere else on the marketplace!

For the artist

Artists gain twofold from our platform. Firstly, it introduces an additional revenue stream, where a substantial 60% of the minting fee goes directly to the creators. This ensures fair compensation for their creative endeavors. Secondly, with each domain adopting their design, artists receive increased exposure in the web3 community. This program essentially serves as a launchpad, amplifying their reach to a broader, tech-savvy audience.

And the users

For users of our web3 name service, this program offers the dual benefit of personalization and support for the arts. Users can now customize their domains with unique backgrounds, making their space more aligned with their personal or brand identity. Additionally, by choosing a particular artist's background, users are directly supporting and endorsing the artist's work, fostering a closer connection between the user and the artistic community.

How does this work exactly?

For a limited time only users will be able to mint limited edition background designed.

If you like the limited edition background you can mint it for one or all the domains you own. Each time you mint a domain you will pay a small fee of which the majority is transferred to the artist.

Note: you have to mint the limited edition background for it to stay after the campaign ends.

Go to your profile, view the domain you want to mint the background for, click the checkbox and sign the transactions.

Once your domain has been successfully minted you will see it on your profile display with the limited edition background. This limited edition background is now yours and linked to your domain. Under no circumstances will it "disappear" unless you decide to sell your domains - which in this case means it will transfer to the new owner.

Here comes the fun part though. You officially own a piece of art attached to your domain! The art is attached to the domain you minted it for and cannot be transferred to another, so choose wisely or just do 'em all. Now that you have one minted you can choose what background to display both on sns.id or NFT marketplaces.

When we have another artist design a limited edition background, you can mint their work with the same domain you used previously. This means you can have more than one limited edition background synced to a domain name. Additionally, you can flip through your options to show the art you want displayed on marketplaces. This may just give your domain that extra alluring factor...

When the opportunity comes to sell your domain, these limited edition cards will be sold with them. In a sense we can say that you are accumulating value to a domain name. You aren't just selling a domain anymore but valuable art along with it.

We're at the end

Domains and genuine art has seemed to be pretty far removed, however, we've developed an easy way to sync these two. Not only are we supporting and uplifting our very own Solana artists but for once you have the opportunity to really showcase your brand. Create a personality for your domains - show your likes and dislikes. You now have the opportunity to become a part of a broader community and ape into something that directly aligns with your domainoooor needs.
